Alright, so if you haven't really roleplayed it's simple. Basically you choose one character from the list that is given. You state that you want that character, and then you let other people reply. Then you reply to them in character. Simple right? Just remember you can't god-mode. God mode means saying one of the other characters did something, and including it in your post. for example, i'll be Louis:
It was expected of Harry to make such a hideously stupid joke, and of course he knew the consequences. With a flat hand, Louis slapped his hand in between Harry's legs, attempting to do as he always did, sack tapping him. It usually hurt him pretty bad, which always left Louis laughing inside.
That is the correct way, this is the wrong way:
It was expected of Harry to make such a hideously stupid joke, and of course he knew the consequences. With a flat hand, Louis slapped his hand in between Harry's legs, which made Harry fall to his knees in pain. With a high pitched voice he said aloud, "Louis, what was that for?"
I am Louis, therefore how will I know what Harry is going to say? I don't, and he could have dodged it. So just remember play your character, and perform your characters actions. Not any else's. It's alright to suggest that you're slapping someone, but that person has the right to dodge it.
Also, don't dodge everything, because it just doesn't happen. It's quite obnoxious when someone is never hit because they don't want to accept their character was slapped, or punched.
Any questions', post below!
